Summer Sports-Medicine Seminar

Greetings Fellow Alabama Athletic Trainers!

My name is Joe Lemery, Athletic Trainer at Sparkman High school for Huntsville Hospital.  I first would like to say I hope everyone made it through the school year with their sanity intact!  I also hope everyone is getting an opportunity to recharge the batteries, enjoy the downtime (hopefully!) and generally just depressurize.

With the upcoming school year in mind, Huntsville Hospital is putting on what we're calling the 'Summer Sports-Medicine Seminar'.  The theme of this 2 day seminar is two-fold:  General and Emergency Medicine / Orthopedic care.  It's going to have content for everyone that can be used in any setting.  There will be 2 'lab' sections where there will be opportunities to hands-on work with regard to special tests as well as working with our local EMS crews practicing spine-boarding.  With the NATA position statement regarding the possible removal of equipment you will have the opportunity to talk with the Director of our EMS services and have an open forum to discuss and practice these situations.

We've worked hard to get what we think are some very good speakers not only in our little network, but also from out of town.  This seminar will provide the attendee with 14.5 CEU's....for 100.00!  Between this and the state meeting if you were one of the many who attended, you will cover you basic CEU needs.  No, sadly, there will not be any Evidence Based Practice CEU's....there just wasn't time to get them submitted and approved but the goal is for us to have at least a few next year. If you are not attending the NATA convention, we think this is a golden opportunity to pick up quality CEU's on the cheap and hopefully all have an enjoyable learning experience.  At the bottom is the link to check our event out, and of course sign-up!

Best Regards,

Joe Lemery
